Town centre parking

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 24th Sep 2007

We have asked that the signage for the town centre car park behind Sainsbury's be improved as many traders are reporting that only a few of their customers actually know the car park is there. At the same time, we have been in discussions with both Sainsbury's and the council about the charging regime in place there, which has caused considerable problems for shoppers and local residents alike.

The controlled parking zone along David's Road and Waldenshaw has also been causing difficulties for local residents and shoppers, particularly regarding the free-parking period and the charges for occasional car users.

If you have any views on this subject or have experienced problems with the town centre parking, please get in touch at foresthill@lewishamlibdems.org.uk.
